Boneless pork chops are skillet cooked with chopped apples, sliced onions, and sauteed in apple cider. Fresh sage gives it all an extra boost of savory flavor! Ingredients:
4 boneless pork chops, a half-inch-thick |
1 tablespoon fresh sage, chopped |
1 tablespoon olive oil |
1 large red onion, cut into wedges |
1 granny smith apple, chopped into 1/2-inch pieces |
3/4 cup apple cider |
salt |
pepper |
Directions:
1. Rub both sides of the pork chops with the sage, and salt and pepper to taste. 2. Heat a large skillet over high heat, then add 1 teaspoon olive oil; sear chops until golden on both sides; about 3 minutes per side. 3. Remove chops and set aside. Wipe out skillet and add the remaining 2 teaspoons olive oil. Add the onion and apples and cook over medium-high heat until lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper and stir in cider. 4. Return chops to skillet. Cover and cook, turning once, until just cooked through - about 6 minutes. |
