Ingredients:
1/2 cup(s) butter |
4 sweet onions thinly sliced |
3 apples peeled, diced |
2 clove(s) garlic minced |
2 tablespoon(s) all-purpose flour |
5 cup(s) beef stock |
1 cup(s) apple juice |
1/4 cup(s) white wine |
1 tablespoon(s) worchestershire sauce |
1 teaspoon(s) brown sugar |
1/2 teaspoon(s) salt |
1/4 teaspoon(s) thyme |
1/2 teaspoon(s) ground pepper |
6 slice(s) french bread 1/2-3/4 thick |
1 teaspoon(s) ground cinnamon |
1 1/2 cup(s) swiss cheese |
Directions:
1. In a slow cooker set to high combine apples, onions, butter and garlic. Cover and cook for 45-one hour, or until onions brown around the edges. Sprinkle with flour and stir to coat. Add beef stock, white wine, apple juice, worchestershire, brown sugar, thyme, salt and pepper. Cover and cook on low 6-8 hours. To serve: Ladle hot soup in to crocks and one slice of bread in each. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Cover each crock with 1/4 cup of cheese. Broil about 2 minutes or until browned on top |
