Apple and Cinnamon Crunch Cake |

Serve warm with ice cream or cream or cold as a tea time treat. Ingredients:
1 lb cooking apple, peeled, cored and chopped |
10 ounces all-purpose flour |
4 teaspoons baking powder |
2 teaspoons ground cinnamon |
5 ounces light brown sugar |
4 ounces butter, melted |
2 large eggs, beaten |
3/4 cup milk |
2 ounces toasted hazelnuts |
2 ounces flour |
2 ounces brown sugar |
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1 ounce butter |
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 375°F 2. Grease and line the base of a 8in loose-based cake tin. 3. Sift the flour, baking powder and cinnamon into a large bowl; stir in the sugar and apples. 4. Mix the butter, eggs and milk together and stir into the dry ingredients – stir until just mixed. 5. Pour into the prepared tin. 6. Place the remaining ingredients in a food processor and blend until crumbly. 7. Scatter over the top of the cake. Bake for 1hr – 1h 15mins or until risen and firm. 8. Cool in the tin. 9. Cut into wedges and serve. |
