Apple Almonds And Cranberries Strudel |

I tried strudel recipes before to find this one, and this, is one of my favorite recipes, crunchy and full of flavor inside... For a great dough... prepare the dough hours before to prepare the strudel... you will see the difference. Ingredients:

1 egg |
3 cups flour + 1/2 tsp. salt |
4 tbsp. oil |
1/2 cup milk ( or less) |
filling |
1 cup chantilly cream |
1/2 cup fresh cake crumbs |
2 apples, peeled, cored and cutted in chunks |
1/2 cup dried cranberries |
1/2 cup grond almonds, toasted |
1/3 cup sugar and cinnamon |
egg glaze ( 1 egg + water) |
confectioners sugar |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven at 125 F. 2. form a crown with the flour and place in the center the oil and See Photo 3. egg… add milk and work until you have a soft dough…. Make a ball and cover with film, let the dough rest for at least 30 minutes…. See Photo 4. Thoroughly flour one side of a large clean dish towel, place the pastry on top and, with your fingers, gently stretch the dough to a large rectangle about 24 x 20 inches; cover with another dish towel and set aside for 5 minutes. See Photo 5. Spread the chantilly cream, cake crumbs… ( cake crumbs should be added alter the cream)… apple chunks, cranberries, almonds and finally the cinnamon and sugar… 6. Roll ( as you see in the Picture) , seal borders with egg glaze, brush the strudel with egg glaze and place in a greased baking sheet. See Photo 7. Bake for 40 – 50 minutes… 8. Dust Confectioner’s sugar and serve warm with vanilla ice cream and/or cream See Photo |
