Appetizer Dilly Cheese Trees |

This is a very fun recipe to put on the table during holiday festivities. Enjoy Ingredients:
1-2/3 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese |
10 tablespoons unsalted butter |
2 cups flour |
2 teaspoons dill weed |
1 teaspoon paprika |
1 teaspoon salt |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 cup whipping cream |
1 egg yolk |
2 teaspoons water |
poppy seeds |
Directions:
1. Combine cheese and butter mixing at medium speed with electric mixer until well blended. 2. Add combined flour, seasonings and soda to cheese mixture then mix well. 3. Add whipping cream and blend well then divide dough in half. 4. Flatten then wrap in plastic wrap and chill 1 hour. 5. On lightly floured surface roll to 1/8” thickness. 6. Cut with 2 inch tree shaped cookie cutter and place on greased cookie sheet. 7. Brush tops with combined egg yolk and water then sprinkle with poppy seeds. 8. Bake at 375 for 10 minutes or until lightly browned. |
