From Breads of the World. Ingredients:
4 slices day-old bread, crusts removed |
2 tablespoons butter, softened |
2 tart apples |
1 dash cinnamon |
1/2 cup marzipan |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 425°F. 2. Place the bread on a lightly greased baking sheet. 3. Using the coarse side of a grater, grate the apples, peel and all. 4. Spread grated apples on top of the bread. 5. Sprinkle with cinnamon. 6. Grate marzipan over apples. 7. Bake until marzipan turns a light gold. |
