After many years, and many versions of beef stew tasting, this one is tweaked to my preference's. I like more of a thin gravy rather than a soupy broth, but that is a minor detail easliy taken care of at the end of cooking. Just add a thickener (cornstarch and water) to make more of a gravy or add some beef broth to thin it out. Ingredients:
1 (7/8 ounce) packet brown gravy mix |
1 (1 1/4 ounce) packet onion soup mix |
1 (14 ounce) can beef broth |
2 (10 ounce) cans cream of something soup |
2 1/2 lbs stew meat |
1/2 lb pre-cut carrot |
1 lb potato (peeled and cubed) |
8 ounces onions (quartered) |
Directions:
1. Add gravy mix, onion soup mix and beef broth to crockpot and mix together. 2. Add the 2 cans of cream of something and mix together. 3. Add the remaining four ingredients and give a quick stir to mix them all together. 4. Cover and cook on low for 7 to 8 hrs or high for 3 to 4 hours. |
