Crock pot or pressure cooker Ingredients:
1 lb pinto beans |
1 small yellow onion |
3 -4 jalapenos or 3 -4 serrano peppers, or |
1 habanero pepper |
8 -10 garlic cloves |
2 -3 ham hocks |
water, to cover beans by 2 inches |
black pepper |
salt |
Directions:
1. Pick beans and soak overnight if you want. 2. put beans in slow cooker or pressure cooker. 3. add diced onion and peppers, crushed or minced garlic, ham hocks and black pepper. 4. cover with water, 2-3 inches above ingredients (more or less depending on how saucy you want them). 5. cook in crockpot on low for 6-8 hours or. 6. cook in pressure cooker for 30-40 minutes. |
