Flavorful bite size crunchy cookies. A German tradition that's been passed down from my family. Perfect for the holiday season. These can be refrigerated and baked at any time. Ingredients:
1 cup butter |
1 cup white sugar |
2 cups brown sugar |
2 eggs |
1/4 teaspoon anise oil or 1/4 teaspoon extract |
1 teaspoon vanilla (optional) |
1 teaspoon allspice |
1 teaspoon ginger |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/2 teaspoon black pepper |
4 tablespoons liquid black coffee |
1 pinch salt |
5 cups flour |
Directions:
1. Cream butter, sugars and eggs. 2. Add remaining ingredients. 3. Roll into snakes. 4. Cut into bite size pieces. 5. Bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes (depending on desired crunch). |
