this recipe is a McCormicks..I found it when I was looking for another recipe... I'm definitely going to make these for Christmas... even though i'm looking for another recipe I'm having a great time finding all these others. Read more .!!! Ingredients:
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened |
1 cup sugar |
1 egg |
1/2 teaspoon mccormick® pure vanilla extract |
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1 3/4 cups sifted flour |
1 1/2 teaspoons mccormick® anise seed |
optional...1/2 cup finely chopped pecans |
Directions:
1. . Beat butter and sugar in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; mix well. Add baking powder and salt to sifted flour; sift again. Gradually add dry ingredients and anise seed to butter mixture, beating well after each addition. 2. 2. Shape dough into log, about 1 1/2 inches in diameter and 12 inches long. Wrap in wax paper. Refrigerate at least 2 hours. 3. 3. Preheat oven to 400°F. Cut log into thin slices and place 1 inch apart on greased baking sheets. 4. 4. Bake 8 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets 1 minute. Remove to wire racks; cool completely. 5. ........................................................................................... 6. frost with a powdered sugar/water frosting with anise oil added for extra flavor. |
