This is a very simple salad to make that tastes impressive. Ingredients:
8 ounces angel hair pasta |
2 tablespoons oil |
1 cup slivered almonds |
1/4 cup sesame seeds |
1/3 cup olive oil |
1/4 cup sugar |
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 teaspoon white pepper |
1 small red cabbage, shredded |
6 scallions, chopped |
1 (8 ounce) can water chestnuts, drained |
Directions:
1. Cook pasta according to package directions, drain and set aside. 2. Heat oil in a small skillet over medium-low heat. 3. Add almonds and sesame seeds. 4. Sauté until slightly brown, set aside. 5. Combine oil, sugar, vinegar, salt and white pepper in a jar. 6. Cover tightly and shake. 7. Set aside. 8. Combine cabbage, scallions, water chestnuts and pasta in a large bowl. 9. Toss in nut mixture. 10. Toss with dressing before serving. |
