Angel Cake with Winter-Fruit Sauce |

Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups chopped mixed dried fruit |
1 cup unsweetened orange juice |
2 tablespoons brown sugar |
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon |
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg |
6 (1-inch-thick) slices angel food cake |
3/4 cup vanilla ice milk |
cinnamon sticks (optional) |
Directions:
1. Combine first 5 ingredients in a medium saucepan, and bring to a boil. Cover, reduce heat, and simmer 5 minutes. Remove from heat; uncover, and let stand 30 minutes. 2. Spoon 1/4 cup fruit sauce over each cake slice; top each with 2 tablespoons ice milk. Garnish with cinnamon sticks, if desired. |
