These are very good. I've had this recipe a long time. Ingredients:
5 cups flour |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon salt |
1 tablespoon baking powder |
2 tablespoons sugar |
3/4 cup shortening |
1 (1/4 ounce) dry yeast |
2 cups buttermilk |
Directions:
1. Mix dry ingredients. 2. Cut in shortening and dissolve yeast in 3 Tbsp's of warm water,add yeast and buttermilk; mixing well. 3. Roll dough out on lightly floured surface. Cut with small biscuit cutter. 4. Bake on greased sheet in preheated 400 for 12 minute or until golden brown. |
