Andrea's Oatmeal Raisin Cookies |

I love oatmeal raisin cookies, but they HAVE to be homemade. This is the way I make them. Ingredients:
2 cups light brown sugar |
1 cup shortening |
1 cup milk |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
4 cups oats |
1 3/4 cups flour, all-purpose |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
3/4 teaspoon salt |
2 cups raisins |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mix brown sugar, lard, milk, and vanilla. Stir in remaining ingredients. (I do all the mixing for this in my Kitchen-aid. Then my arm doesn't get sore. HA!) 2. Drop the dough by tablespoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 15 minutes. Immediately remove from cookie sheet and cool. |
