This chili is delish! Ingredients:
12 oz beer |
8 oz tomato sauce |
1 1/2 tsp. louisiana hot sauce |
6 tbsp beef stock |
2 tbsp chili powder |
1 tsp cornmeal |
1 cup onion |
1 tsp flour |
4 garlic cloves |
2 1/2 tbsp cumin |
2 1/2 lb. lean ground beef |
1 lb. pork sausage |
2 tsp. oregano |
2 tsp. paprika |
2 tsp. sugar |
1 tsp. baking cocoa |
60 oz. chili beans |
Directions:
1. In a large pan, brown all of the meat. Remove meat and pour off the fat but keep 2 tsp. of the fat in the pan. In the fat, brown the onions and garlic until tender and transparent. Transfer meat and cooked veggies into a crock pot and add remaining ingredients except flour, cornmeal and warm water. Mix well. Turn on low and cook for about three or four hours depending on how it tastes to you - it's very flexible. Stir together the flour, cornmeal and add the bullion (use 3 tbsp. bullion instead of stock). Stir into the chili at the end to thicken. I usually skip the thickening part because I think it?s thick enough but it?s all to your taste. Cook about a half an hour longer. |
