If you’ve ever seen actress Amy Sedaris on either Letterman or O’Brian, you know she uses her valuable network television time to pimp her cheese balls which she sells commercially. And for good reason! The creamy, rich mouthfeel, the smoky taste, the nutty crunch. Read more . It's a winner, and perfect to pair with a bottle of beer or a glass of wine. Ingredients:
2 cups shredded smoked gouda cheese, room temperature
2 packages (8 ounces each) cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, room temperature
2 tablespoons milk
2 teaspoons steak sauce (amy uses a-1)
1 cup toasted chopped walnuts or pecans
crackers, for serving
Directions:
1. Place Gouda, cream cheese, butter, milk, and steak sauce in the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with a paddle attachment; mix until well combined.
2. Transfer mixture to refrigerator; let chill overnight.
3. Roll cheese mixture into a ball.
4. Place nuts in a shallow dish.
5. Roll cheese ball in nuts to fully coat.
6. Serve with crackers.
7. This makes one GIANT cheese ball. I split it into two balls.
