My Mennonite grandmother's recipe for 'meadow' tea - keeps well ALL winter long! YUMMY! Enjoy! Ingredients:
4 quarts water |
1 quart meadow mint tea, stems & leaves |
4 -6 cups sugar |
Directions:
1. Boil 4 quarts of water. 2. Add 1 quart (packed tight) tea stems and leaves. 3. Bring to a boil. 4. Turn off the heat, and steep for 1/2- 1 hour, pressing tea down in water periodically. 5. Remove leaves and stems. 6. Strain through cheesecloth (or tightly-knit dish towel). 7. Add 4-6 cups sugar. 8. Stir until dissolved. 9. Place in freezer boxes, cool completely and freeze. 10. To prepare: Mix 1 concentrate plus 2-3 concentrate boxes full of water and serve! |
