American Style Beans on Toast |

Adapted from English Beans on Toast after left with a can of Van Camps Pork & Beans. I find the best toast for this is white toast, however avoid the cheap 1 dollar white bread as it is typically too sweet for the recipe. Bakery bought white bread works well. I also think this recipe the tastiest with the least amount of egg whites. Ingredients:
1 (8 ounce) can van camp's pork and beans |
grated cheddar cheese |
2 eggs |
2 pieces white toast |
butter |
Directions:
1. Put a pat of butter in small saucepan. 2. Pour beans in saucepan once butter is melted, let simmer until sauce thickens. About 7 mins on medium high. 3. Poach eggs 4. Top buttered toast with beans, cheese, and an egg each. 5. Enjoy. |
