The second in some liqueurs recipes my girlfriend gave me 30 years ago. This recipe came from Quebec as well, so there we can get Alcool which is what this recipe requests. It is basically a 40% alcohol. But I know you can't get that in the USA, not sure if they even have alcohol. But I had to put alcohol in the list of ingredients because that is all it would recognize. This is a delicious almond flavor liqueur to enjoy. Ingredients:
3 cups dark brown sugar |
3 teaspoons vanilla |
1 1/8 cups water |
40 ounces alcohol, 40 |
6 drops orange bitters |
2 tablespoons almond extract |
Directions:
1. Boil first 3 ingredients to syrup and cool completely and strain. 2. Add next 3 ingredients and mix well 3. Let sit for at least 30 days if you can. |
