Very tasty applesauce that's easy! Why buy processed when you can make it? I often make this up and freeze in small containers to use up those apples that are just past their prime. This recipe has very little sugar in it and you can always use Splenda instead if you like. Ingredients:
8 apples, peeled, cored & sliced (i use whatever is in my fridge) |
1 cup water |
2 -3 tablespoons sugar (to taste) |
1 teaspoon cinnamon |
1 pinch ground cloves (optional) |
Directions:
1. Put apples and water in saucepan. 2. Cover and bring to boil. 3. lower heat and simmer, stirring occasionally for 20 minutes. 4. Stir in sugar, cinnamon and cloves (if using). 5. Cook until all sugar is dissolved. 6. Serve warm or let cool. |
