This is the coleslaw I make,the only one really.It is so good! The buttermilk makes it. Ingredients:
8 cups very finely chopped cabbage (about the size of rice) |
1/4 cup shredded carrots |
2 tbls.minced onions (i grate mine,mainly just using the juice) |
1/3 cup sugar |
1/2 tsp.salt |
1/8 tsp.pepper |
1/2 cup mayo |
1/4 cup milk |
1/4 cup buttermilk |
1 1/2 tbls.tarragon vinegar.(dont worry i never have that stuff,i use cider vinegar) |
Directions:
1. Mix cabbage,carrot and onion in a alrge bowl. 2. Combine sugar,salt,pepper,mayo,milk & buttermilk and vinegar,stir until smooth. 3. Pour over cabbage;mix well,toss to combine. 4. Cover and refrigerate 3-4 hours. 5. I can never wait that long and eat it right away!! |
