I live in hamilton, OH and eat goldstar and skyline chili all the time. I've spent a very long time looking for something similar to the recipe and this is the one that tastes the most like it but more like empress chili. Read more . put it on noodles and on top of hot dogs for coney's. Thank you Recipezaar for this one. Ingredients:
1 quart water |
2 lbs ground beef |
2 teaspoons cinnamon |
2 teaspoons ground cumin |
2 teaspoons worcestershire sauce |
3 garlic clove (diced) |
3 teaspoons chili powder |
1 teaspoon black pepper |
1 teaspoon red pepper |
1 tablespoon salt |
3 teaspoons ground allspice |
1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste |
2 tablespoons cider vinegar |
4 large bay leaf |
Directions:
1. Crumble raw (do not brown first) ground beef into the quart of water. Add all of the other ingredients. 2. Simmer uncovered for 1/2 hour. 3. Simmer for another 2 and 1/2 hours covered. 4. Stir occasionally 5. Serve on noddles with cheese(Cincinnati style) or on hot dogs for coneys either way you try you will enjoy 6. ****Not your typical texas style chili so widen your taste buds before you turn your nose up**** |
