Rich, buttery, chewy, crunchy, delicious! Ingredients:
1/2 cup brown sugar |
2/3 cup butter, softened |
1/2 cup dark corn syrup (or light) |
1 egg |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
2 cups flour |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/3 cup brown sugar |
1/3 cup dark corn syrup (or light) |
1/4 cup butter |
1/4 cup whipping cream |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
1 cup sliced almonds |
Directions:
1. Heat oven to 350. Grease jelly roll pan 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1. Mix brown sugar, butter, corn syrup, egg and vanilla. Stir in flour and salt. Spread dough in pan. Bake 18-20 minutes. 2. Topping: Cook and stir brown sugar and corn syrup over low heat until sugar is dissolved. Stir in butter and cream. Heat to boiling; remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and almonds. Pour over crust, spreading evenly. Bake 15-20 minutes. Cool completely. Cut into squares and then diagonally into triangles. 3. NOTE: If you drizzle this with melted chocolate chips after it comes out of the oven, it will be a giant Heath bar. And you know I do! |
