What cookie platter is complete without the addition of macaroons? Ingredients:
16 ounces almond paste |
1 cup confectioners' sugar |
1/2 teaspoon lemon juice |
5 egg whites |
Directions:
1. Place almond paste, sugar and lemon juice in a mixing bowl; add 4 unbeaten egg whites and mix to form a soft dough. 2. Add the remaining egg white only if necessary for consistency. 3. Using a teaspoon, drop the dough onto a buttered cookie sheet; bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 15-20 minutes, or until lightly browned. |
