This is a delightfully rich and creamy custard with a nice almond flavor Ingredients:
for the custard |
2 eggs |
1 cup of milk |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
1/4 cup flour |
1/4 cup butter softened do not use margarine |
1/2 cup elbow macaroni cooked and drained |
topping mix |
1/2 cup slivered almonds |
1/3 cup brown sugar |
2 tablespoons butter softened |
1 tablespoon milk |
Directions:
1. preheat oven to 350 degrees 2. for the custard combine all custard ingredients except macaroni in a blender 3. blend for 2 minutes 4. pour into a large bowl and fold in the macaroni 5. grease and flour an 8 inche square baking pan 6. pour custard into prepared baking pan 7. bake 40 to 45 minutes until set 8. combine topping ingredients in a small bowl 9. spread over cooked custard 10. broil 2 or 3 minutes until topping is bubbly and golden brown 11. cover and refrigerate left overs |
