ALMOND GLAZED COFFEECAKE This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Laurel Estate in Mesquite, Texas in 1986. Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter |
1 can coconut almond frosting mix |
1-1/2 cups all purpose flour |
1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder |
3/4 cup milk |
1 egg |
1/2 cup chopped nuts |
glaze |
1/2 cup powdered sugar |
1 tablespoon butter melted |
2 tablespoons milk |
1/4 teaspoon almond extract |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350. 2. Generously grease and flour a square pan. 3. In large saucepan melt butter then add frosting mix, flour, baking powder, milk and egg. 4. Blend well then spread batter into prepared pan and sprinkle with nuts. 5. Bake 30 minutes then combine glaze ingredients and pour over warm coffeecake. |
