An ohhh sooo yummy healthy granola. Check out your store bought brand....very very high in fat and not nearly as tasty as this. I put this ontop of fresh fruit and yogurt.....the kids think it's a sweet treat! Read more Oh...and yummy for breakfast too.
Ingredients:
2 c. oatmeal (not instant) and wheat flakes, mixed
1 c. almonds (or variety of nuts), chopped
1/4 c. pure maple syrup
1/4 c. olive oil
1/4 t. salt
1 t. vanilla
Directions:
1. Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Spread thinly on cookie sheet. Bake for 20-25 minutes at 325° to 350°, or until lightly browned. Cool. Store in a tight container.
2. Variations: Add other nuts (pecans, cashews etc.) and seeds (sesame, sunflower). I add nuts by the 1/2 c. and seeds by 2 T. amounts. Remember that if you add significantly more to the mix you may need to increase the amount of oil and maple syrup slightly. You may substitute honey for the syrup if you are not a big fan of maple
