ALMOND CRESCENT COOKIES This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Smith Estate in Granbury, Texas in 1987. Ingredients:
1 cup almonds blanched |
1 cup butter softened |
1/2 cup granulated sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 cups flour |
powdered sugar |
Directions:
1. In food processor process almonds until finely ground in an on off motion. 2. Remove almonds from work bowl. 3. Cut butter in 6 pieces and place butter in work bowl and process 10 seconds. 4. Add sugar and process until light and creamy. 5. Add vanilla, salt and flour then process until combined. 6. Add nuts and process only until combined then place in a bowl and chill 30 minutes. 7. Preheat oven to 350. 8. Shape a tablespoon of dough into 1/2 thick sticks. 9. Bend each stick into a crescent shape and place on a greased cookie sheet 1 apart. 10. Bake 20 minutes until cookies are dry but not brown then cool slightly. 11. Roll in powdered sugar. |
