2 1/2 cups flour |
1 cup sugar |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1 cup shortening |
2 eggs, beaten |
1 tablespoon almond extract |
1/4 cup blanched unsalted almonds |
Directions:
1. Mix dry ingredients in abowl. Cut in shortening with pastry cutter or a fork. Add beaten eggs and almond extract, stirring with a spoon until mixed. Preheat oven to 325*. Shape dough into balls the size of a large cherry. Place them on a greased cookie sheet. Press an almond into the center of each cookie. Bake for 25 minutes. |
