this is a moist coffee cake for anytime, really. good almond taste. Ingredients:
3/4 c sugar |
1/2 c unsalted butter, softened |
2 eggs |
1 t almond extract |
1 t vanilla |
1 1/2 c flour |
3/4 c sour cream |
3/4 baking powder |
3/4 t baking soda |
1/4 t salt |
struesel |
1/4 c sliced almond, toasted |
1/4 c almond toffee bits |
glaze |
1/4 c powdere sugar |
1/4-1/2 t almond extract |
1-2 t milk |
Directions:
1. MIX SUGAR, BUTTER ,EGGS, ALMOND AND VANILLA IN LARGE BOWL. BEAT ON MED SPEED UNTIL CREAMY. 2. ADD REST OF COFFEE CAKE INGREDIENTS. MIX WELL 3. SPREAD 1/2 OF BATTER IN PAN. 4. SPRINKLE 2 T ALMONDS AND 2 T TOFFEE BITS OVER. 5. SPREAD REMAINING BATTER OVER STRUESEL. 6. TOP WITH REST OF NUTS. 7. PUT INTO GREASED,FLORED 9 INCH ROUND PAN 8. BAKE 30-40 MIN COOL 10 MIN . REMOVE FROM PAN AND COOL COMPLETELY. 9. MIX GLAZE , DRIZZLE OVER COOLED CAKE. |
