This recipe comes from Melting Pot Potluck. It was put together to announce the arrival of a new pastor and his wife in 1967. Origin: France. Ingredients:
6 chicken breasts |
1 teaspoon salt |
paprika |
1/4 cup butter |
1 tablespoon onion, minced |
3/4 cup white wine |
garlic powder |
3/4 lb mushroom, sliced |
1/4 cup butter |
1 cup sour cream |
1/2 cup almonds, toasted |
Directions:
1. Season chicken, then place in melted butter until coated. Bake skin side down for 20 minutes at 400*. Turn chicken. Combine onion, garlic, and 1/2 cup wine. Pour mixture over over chicken. Bake 40 minutes longer at 325*. Cook mushrooms in butter for 5 minutes. Add drippings from chicken, sour cream, and remaining wine. Heat. Add half of the almonds. Place chicken on platter and pour sauce over it. Top with remaining almonds. |
