2 cups flour |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1 cup butter, room temperature |
1 cup sugar |
2 large egg yolks |
1/2 teaspoon lemon extract |
3/4 teaspoon almond extract |
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract |
70 whole blanched almonds |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 300°F. 2. Combine flour and baking powder; set aside. 3. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. 4. Beat in the egg yolks and the extracts. 5. Blend in the dry ingredients. 6. Break off walnut-sized pieces of dough and roll into balls. 7. Place 1 1/2 apart on ungreased cookie sheets. 8. Press an almond into the center of each cookie flattening them slightly. 9. Bake for 15-20 minutes until the cookies are golden brown. 10. Transfer to wire racks to cool. |
