Ingredients:
2 pounds fresh asparagus |
2 tablespoons butter or margarine |
1 tablespoon lemon juice |
3/4 cup slivered almonds, toasted |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/4 teaspoon pepper |
Directions:
1. Snap off tough ends of asparagus. Cook asparagus in boiling water to cover 3 minutes or until crisp-tender; drain. 2. Plunge asparagus into ice water to stop the cooking process; drain. 3. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat; add asparagus, and sauté 3 to 5 minutes. Toss asparagus with lemon juice and remaining ingredients. |
