This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Baxter Estate in Dallas, Texas in 1982. Ingredients:
1 cup blanched almonds |
1 cup brown sugar |
2 tablespoons butter |
Directions:
1. Butter a large sheet of foil and sprinkle lightly with salt. 2. To blanch nuts place shelled almonds in boiling water for seven to eight minutes. 3. Drain and dry on absorbent towels. 4. Remove almond skins. 5. Place sugar and butter in small skillet. 6. Cook over medium heat for 10 to 12 minutes stirring constantly until sugar dissolves. 7. Add almonds and stir until well coated. 8. Pour onto foil. 9. Cool and break into pieces. |
