This is my all time favorite chocolate chip cookie recipe. I found it originally on the back of a package of Hershey Baking Pieces, which I don't think they even make anymore. I thought I lost the recipe there for a while but finally found it and was very happy. I'm posting the recipe on Zaar so I won't have to worry about losing it again. Oh, be sure to use real butter in this recipe. Ingredients:
1 cup butter, softened |
1 cup granulated sugar |
3/4 cup packed light brown sugar |
2 teaspoons vanilla extract |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 large eggs |
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour (i add 1/4 cup more, otherwise the cookies turn out too flat) |
1 teaspoon baking soda |
12 ounces milk chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375°F. 2. In large bowl, beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, vanilla and salt with electric mixer until creamy. 3. Add eggs; beat well. 4. Stir together flour and baking soda; gradually add to butter mixture, beating until well mixed. 5. Stir in chocolate chips. 6. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet. 7. Bake 8-10 minutes or until set. 8. Cool slightly; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. |
