All American Mini Apple Pies |

These cute little apple pies are made as individual servings using a muffin tin Ingredients:
2 medium tart baking apples (i use granny smith) |
1/4 cup sugar |
2 tsp. all-purpose flour |
3/4 tsp. ground cinnamon |
1 sheet refrigerated pie crust (i try to make my own, its up to the cook) |
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. 2. Peel, core and chop apples into 1/4-in. pieces. 3. In medium bowl, combine apples, sugar, flour and cinnamon, tossing gently. 4. Set aside. 5. Open and unroll pie crust flatm onto work surface. 6. Using a 4-in. wide bowl or cup, cut out 5 circles, reserving scraps. 7. Press each circle inside 5 spaces of the muffin tin. 8. Evenly divide apple mixture into each prepared muffin cup. 9. Cut reserved dough scraps into strips 1/4-in. wide. 10. Top each pie with strips. 11. Fill remaining empty muffin cups 1/4 way up with water. 12. Bake until bubbling, about 18 mins. 13. Let pies cool in muffin tin, then remove. 14. A scoop of vanilla ice-cream adds an extra treat or even try butter pecan ice-cream. 15. Tastes great! |
