Crispy, spicy...irresistible! I found this recipe in First magazine. I have not tried this recipe, but I'm posting it for safe keeping. Ingredients:
2 cups vegetable oil |
12 ounces beef cocktail franks (boar's head recommended) |
2 eggs |
1/3 cup milk |
1/3 cup cayenne pepper sauce (franks recommended) |
1 cup pancake and baking mix |
1 cup cornmeal |
Directions:
1. In deep fryer, heat vegetable oil to 375. 2. Separate franks; pat dry. 3. In bowl, whisk together eggs, milk and pepper sauce. Stir in baking mix and cornmeal until blended. Working in batches, dip franks in batter, letting excess drip back into bowl. Fry 1 minute, or until golden brown. Drain. Serve with ketchup and mustard, if desired. |
