She usually makes 1 1/2 times the amount of sauce and a bit more macaroni Ingredients:
1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch |
1/2 teaspoon dry mustard |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
1/8 teaspoon pepper |
1 1/2 cups milk |
3 tablespoons butter |
1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded |
6 ounces twist trio macaroni, cooked 6 minutes, drained |
1 (14 ounce) can tomatoes, well drained, coarsely chopped |
8 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350. 2. In a 1 quart saucepan stir together constarch, mustard, salt and pepper. Gradually stir in milk until smooth. Add butter. 3. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil over medium heat and boil for 1 minute. 4. Sitr in cheese until it melts. Pour sauce over macaroni in a 8x8x2 baking dish. 5. Add tomatoes, toss until well mixed. Sprinkle with bacon. 6. Bake for 25-30 minutes. |
