Alaskan Sourdough Dumplings |

Simple, delicious comfort food. Pillowy wads of dough, excellent as the dumpling in chicken and dumplings or simmered on any stew! Note: they taste better than they look! Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour |
2 tsp. baking powder |
1/4 tsp. baking soda |
1/4 tsp. salt |
1 cup sourdough starter |
2 tbsp. canola oil |
1 egg |
Directions:
1. Stir together the dumpling ingredients. 2. Drop walnut to golf-ball sized dumplings over the top of simmering stew or gravy, about 1/4 inch apart. Cover and cook until the dumplings have doubled in size, about 15 minutes. Serve warm. 3. *may be doubled |
