This salad is a common side dish in Polish meals. It can also be used as a main dish and eaten with rolls. Grandma's favorite! Ingredients:
5-7 carrots |
2 parsley roots |
1/2 of a small celery root |
2 big potatoes |
5 hard boiled eggs |
1 large apple |
2 dill pickles(konserwowe) |
1 small onion |
1 small can of peas |
1 1/2 table spoons of mayonnaise |
dash of salt and pepper to taste |
Directions:
1. Boil all the ingredients until soft except for the apple, pickle and onion. Peel the apple and the pickle (yes, I mean the pickle too, it's a Polish thing!) and throw them away or eat them, whatever you choose. Dice apple, onion and pickle. Cool the vegetables and then peel and dice them as small as you wish. Mix everything together. Add enough mayonnaise to blend everything together or to taste. Salt and pepper to taste as well. |
