This I found on an Internet site that I don't recall now. It said in the directions not to test if it's done with a toothpick, because the middle remains very gooey. Ingredients:
1 cup all-purpose flour |
3/4 cup sugar |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
2 tablespoons cocoa |
2 teaspoons baking powder |
2 tablespoons melted butter |
1 tablespoon bourbon |
2 teaspoons coffee liqueur (kahlua or tia maria) |
1/2 cup milk |
1 cup water |
1/2 cup brown sugar |
1/2 cup white sugar |
1/4 cup cocoa |
Directions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350*. 2. Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish and set aside. 3. Mix together flour, sugar, salt, cocoa, and baking powder. 4. Stir in butter, bourbon, liqueur and milk. 5. Spread in the pan. 6. In a separate bowl, stir 1 cup water together with brown sugar, white sugar and cocoa. 7. Pour this syrup over the batter in the pan. (This looks wierd, but it works). 8. Bake 45 minutes, or until center of cake is firm to the touch, and sounds hollow when tapped-the dessert should remain very gooey under a baked crust, so don't wait until a toothpick tests clean. |
