Tender acorn with a apple pie like filling. Ingredients:
2 acorn squash, halved |
1/2 teaspoon salt |
2 tart apples, thinly sliced |
2 tablespoons raisins |
3 tablespoons butter |
4 tablespoons brown sugar |
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon |
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg |
Directions:
1. Sprinkle squash with salt. 2. In skillet, saute apples and raisins in butter. 3. Add sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg, cook for 5 minutes. 4. Spoon into squash halves. 5. Place in baking dish. 6. Bake at 350* for about 1 hour, until tender. |
