ACCORDION TREATS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Hartford Estate in Mesquite Texas in 1991. Ingredients:
2 sheets heavy duty foil 1 yard each |
3/4 cup butter softened |
3/4 cup granulated sugar |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
2 eggs |
1 cup all purpose flour |
1/4 teaspoon salt |
1/2 cup chopped walnuts |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 325. 2. Fold 1 sheet of foil in half lengthwise. 3. Fold the double thickness foil crosswise into 1” pleats to make an accordion pleated pan. 4. Place on cookie sheet then repeat with second sheet of foil. 5. In large bowl beat margarine and sugar until light and fluffy. 6. Add vanilla and eggs then beat well. 7. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup and level off. 8. Add flour and salt then mix well. 9. Stir in walnuts then drop rounded teaspoon of dough into each fold of foil. 10. Bake at 325 for 22 minutes or until golden brown. 11. Remove cookies from foil then cool completely. 12. Turn foil over for second baking. |
