Just thinking about all those Super Bowl goodies I plan to make and I dragged out this old recipe for hotdogs. Ingredients:
one large onion (or two medium), chopped |
one tablespoon oil |
2 cups ketchup |
1/4 cup mustard |
1/2 cup pickle relish |
2 tablespoons worchestershire sauce |
4 tablespoons brown sugar |
dash of hot sauce |
package of eight hotdogs |
Directions:
1. In a sauce pan, saute chopped onion in oil until slightly softened; 2. Add in ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, worchestershire, brown sugar, and hot sauce; 3. Simmer for five minutes; 4. Add hotdogs to mixture and simmer for 10 more minutes; 5. Serve hotdogs on warmed buns. 6. (I sometimes add a can of chopped sour kraut, drained, to the mix and it's really good!) |
