Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups butter (not spread or tub product) or 1 1/2 cups margarine (not spread or tub product) |
3 cups sugar |
5 eggs, at room temperature |
3 cups cake flour |
1 tablespoon lemon flavoring |
3/4 cup carbonated lemon-lime beverage (7up preferred) |
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 300F and grease/flour a tube pan. 2. Cream butter and sugar together until light and fluffy. 3. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each one. 4. Add flour alternating with 7-Up; stir in lemon flavoring. 5. Bake in prepared pan until cake tests done, approximately an hour. |
