Make this in a large bowl. batter will keep 6 weeks in the refrigerator Ingredients:
pour 2 cups boiling water over 2 cups bran cereal. set aside |
mix |
4 cups bran cereal |
3 cups sugar |
1 cup melted shortening |
4 eggs |
2 cups sour milk (add 1 tsp lemon juice or vinegar to make sour) |
5 cups flour |
5 tsp baking soda (add to sour milk) |
2 tsp salt |
Directions:
1. mix all ingredients. add the bran/water mixture. 2. place in covered bowl. 3. refrigerate overnight 4. grease muffin tins 5. bake 400 degrees for 20 minutes |
