Make this in a large bowl. batter will keep 6 weeks in the refrigerator
Ingredients:
pour 2 cups boiling water over 2 cups bran cereal. set aside
mix
4 cups bran cereal
3 cups sugar
1 cup melted shortening
4 eggs
2 cups sour milk (add 1 tsp lemon juice or vinegar to make sour)
5 cups flour
5 tsp baking soda (add to sour milk)
2 tsp salt
Directions:
1. mix all ingredients. add the bran/water mixture.
2. place in covered bowl.
3. refrigerate overnight
4. grease muffin tins
5. bake 400 degrees for 20 minutes
