While trying to boost the fiber in our diets, I tried using my traditional white bread recipe and substituted the 6-grain flour for some of the white flour. This bread turns out great every time and has become my husband's favorite so I make it a lot. I most often use the 6-grain flour, but any kind of whole grain flour works. If you like large pieces of bread, use 2 big loaf pans, if you like your slices smaller, use 3 medium pans. And I usually use my bread maker on the dough cycle but I use my Kitchen Aid if my bread machine is busy doing something else at the time. Ingredients:
4 teaspoons yeast |
2 cups white flour |
2 1/2 cups multi-grain flour |
1/4 cup sugar |
1 teaspoon salt |
3 eggs |
1/4 cup cooking oil |
1 cup warm water |
Directions:
1. Place all ingredients in your bread maker. Mix on dough cycle. When cycle is complete, remove from bread maker and shape into 2 large or 3 medium loaves. Let rise and bake in a 350 degree oven for about 22 minutes. Enjoy! |
