A refreshing dip with pita bread or crackers even on backed potatoes serve it wit orange juice ....delicious Ingredients:
4 cups yogurt, plain |
1/4 cup finely chopped fresh basil, or 2 teaspoons dried basil |
2 cloves garlic, crushed (optional) |
salt to taste |
another way |
i/4 cup flat parsley |
1/4 cup cilantro or white onion |
4 cups yogurt plain |
salt to taste |
in this case you blend it by hand |
another way with dill |
1 cup plain yogurt |
1 teaspoon lemon juice |
1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped |
2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped |
salt and pepper |
Directions:
1. Strain the yogurt through cheesecloth overnight (if the yogurt is too thin) if not just mix it as is 2. Place all ingredients in a blender; then blend for a few moments. 3. Place in a serving bowl and chill. 4. Serve as a dip with Arabic (pita) bread. 5. to serve it with dill: 6. Add the chopped herbs and lemon juice to the thickened yogurt. 7. Mix well and season with salt and pepper to taste. |
