These are double chocolate-cocoa and chocolate chips! These really caught my eye. Creme de menthe recipes differ, with a variety of ingredients, but this is one of the coolest I have found 8) Hope you agree! 8) (Prep time includes chilling time!) Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine |
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder |
1/2 cup powdered sugar |
1 egg, beaten |
1 teaspoon vanilla extract |
2 cups graham cracker crumbs |
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine |
3 cups powdered sugar |
1/3 cup creme de menthe |
1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine |
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips |
Directions:
1. In a saucepan combine 1/2 cup of butter/margarine with cocoa powder. 2. Heat, while stirring until well blended. 3. Remove from the heat and add 1/2 cup of the powdered sugar, egg and vanilla extract. 4. Stir in crumbs and mix well. 5. Press mixture into bottom of ungreased 13x9x2-inch baking pan. 6. Melt another 1/2 cup of butter. 7. In a small mixing bowl, combine melted butter with creme de menthe. 8. At low speed of mixer beat in remaining 3 cups powdered sugar until smooth. 9. Spread mixture over the crumb layer and chill for 1 hour. 10. In small saucepan combine remaining 1/4 cup butter and chocolate chips. 11. Cook and stir over low heat until melted. 12. Spread over chilled layer and chill 1-2 hours. 13. Cut in small squares. |
