I found this recipe in a cookbook and it soon became a favorite. It can be used as an appetizer or as a main dish, especially if you are having someone over who is on a meatless/vegetarian diet. Ingredients:
12 inch pre-made pizza crust |
2 tablespoons butter, melted |
1 tablespoon garlic salt |
2 teaspoons dried basil |
2 tomatoes, thinly sliced |
pepper to taste |
1 cup shredded mozzarella |
1 cup shredded cheddar (i generally use just 2 cups mozzarella and omit the cheddar) |
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese |
Directions:
1. Brush pizza crust with butter; sprinkle with garlic salt and basil. Arrange tomato slices over pizza and sprinkle with pepper. Top with cheeses. 2. Place on a baking sheet. 3. Bake in a 400 degree oven of 8-10 minutes or until cheese is melted. |
